Men Gain Weight in College, But Don’t Care as Much as Women

Weight gain in college differs among men and women. While women showed a higher rate of dissatisfaction with their body, and worse eating habits after gaining weight, men who gained weight maintained the same rate of satisfaction with their bodies. Regardless of the starting weight of the males, all reported negative attitudes about their health if they lost weight, whereas women who lost weight reported an improved attitude.
